Privacy policy, in plain words.
Effective August 2026
This site is small and mostly static. Here is exactly what that means for your data.
What we collect
Browsing this site sends standard server logs to our hosting provider: IP address, requested pages, timestamps. We do not run analytics scripts, advertising pixels, or fingerprinting of any kind.
If you email us, we receive whatever you send: your address, name if you include it, and the contents of the message. That is the only personal data we hold by choice.
How we use it
Email correspondence is used to reply, and occasionally, with credit and permission sought first, quoted in published notes. Server logs exist for security and debugging. Nothing is sold, rented, or shared beyond the hosting provider that technically must process it.
Retention
Correspondence is kept while a conversation is live, then as long as it has ongoing value to our research record, after which it is deleted on request or in routine cleanups. Logs are retained by our host under its default policy.
Your rights
- Ask what we hold about you; we will answer honestly and promptly.
- Ask for correction or deletion of correspondence.
- Withdraw consent to quote you at any time, before or after publication.
